Earl R. Carmichael Park is a sprawling 30-acre urban park in the heart of Silicon Valley. The park features various recreational amenities and opportunities for nature-loving visitors, including six large open grassy spaces, a half-mile walking loop, picnic areas, a fishing pond, playground equipment, and a 2.5-acre dog park. In addition, there is a hard-surface basketball court, tennis courts, sand volleyball courts, and an indoor/outdoor/fitness center with weight machines, treadmills, and exercise bikes. One of the many unique features at Earl R. Carmichael Park is its 17-acre Native Plant Nursery. The site is home to various indigenous species, including tree species, shrubs, grasses, and wildflowers. These native species provide sanctuary to diverse wildlife and contribute to the feeling of being in the midst of nature. Many species grown in the nursery are later transplanted to other parks or open spaces, allowing all to enjoy additional wild green spaces.
